Our student workshops can be run as a webinar or face to face
Each teacher will receive a pre and post-workshop pack with additional lessons to support student learning and continue their class’s online safety journey.
Each student will receive access to an Online Safety Journal full of activities and tips to share with their families at home. An example of the journal can be found here.
Foundation - Year 1
It’s Private!
F - Year 1

In this session, students explore the importance of keeping their personal information safe.
Students will investigate the following key themes and topics throughout the workshop:
- safety when using connected devices
- personal information and passwords
- trusted adults
- what’s ok / not ok to share
- asking please, before saying

Body, Buddies & Balance
F - Year 1

In this session, students explore practices that enhance their health, safety and happiness while reflecting on their digital wellbeing.
Students will investigate the following key themes and topics throughout the workshop:
- What is wellbeing? (sleep, diet, exercise, posture, breaks, eye health)
- Why is balance between offline and online activities important?
- How can our device use help / harm us?
- Who are people that can help us? (trusted adults)

My Connected World
F - Year 1

In this session, students develop an awareness about how they feel when something isn’t quite right online and explore how to stay safe when accessing connected devices.
Students will investigate the following key themes and topics throughout the workshop:
- protecting our devices
- personal online safety

- avoiding unwanted exposure

Year 2 - Year 3
Online Hazards
Year 2 - 3

In this session, students explore the importance of keeping their personal information safe.
Students will investigate the following key themes and topics throughout the workshop:
- protecting our personal information, password management and privacy
- trusted adults and help seeking
- avoiding unwanted content and contact
- avoiding clickbait (scams, spam
and virus’)
- online gaming safety
- public and private sites
- recording and sharing (consent)
Health, Happiness & Help Seeking
Year 2 - 3

In this session, students investigate their own digital wellbeing. They look at what it takes to stay happy and healthy when using their devices.
Students will investigate the following key themes and topics throughout the workshop:
- eye health, ergonomics, sleep
- positive offline activities
- device safety (storage, plugs, cables and power points)
- online / offline activities which help / harm our wellbeing
- self regulation and dealing with frustration
- developing your wellbeingwhirlpool
- developing help seeking behaviours
- family media agreements
Being Kind Online
Year 2 - 3

In this session, students investigate ways to be kind online and how to protect themselves and others from unkind words and actions.
Students will investigate the following key themes and topics throughout the workshop:
- identifying the different types of negative online behaviour
- developing online resilience – bouncing back
- when to report negative online behaviour to trusted adults
- recording and sharing images (consent)
- online collaboration – teaching
the skills of compromise
and respect - being inclusive with our
peers online - offline vs online communication
- steps for dealing with hurtful online behaviour (stop, record, tell, block)
Year 4 - Year 6
Call Security!
Year 4-6

In this session, students develop strategies to effectively distinguish between online and offline friendships.
Students will examine the following key themes and topics throughout the workshop:
- the difference between online friends and offline friends
- protecting privacy in online games and on social media
- identifying red flags
- reporting unwanted contact
- profile protection (passwords,
personal information) - private browsers
- avoiding and reporting
identity theft
Brain, Balance and Boundaries
Year 4-6

In this session, students evaluate the effect social media and online games have on their wellbeing.
Students will examine the following key themes and topics throughout the workshop:
- impacts of social media
- body image, FOMO and highlight reels
- toxic trolling and trash talk
- gaming and social media addiction
- settings to combat addiction
- impacts of excessive use
- signs that it may be time to switch off
- age restrictions for apps and why they exist
- self regulation (setting limits)
Rights and Responsibilities
Year 4-6

In this session, students develop strategies to respond to negative online behaviour and effectively de-escalate ‘digital drama’.
Students will examine the following key themes and topics throughout the workshop:
- how to identify and report cyberbullying on popular social media and gaming platforms
- reporting cyberbullying to the eSafety Commission
- help seeking pathways and actions

Your Digital Rep
Grade 4-6

In this session, students work in teams to curate a positive online vision for their future by identifying their ‘brand’ Students will examine the following key themes and topics throughout the workshop:
- finding your tribe online
- THINK before you post
- creating, curating and maintaining a positive
online reputation
- data trails and targeted advertising
- settings to minimise data collection
- autoplay and algorithms
- polarisation and your point of view
- signs that it may be time to switch off
- age restrictions for apps and why they exist
- self regulation (setting limits)
Co-Create Acceptable User Agreement
In this session, Evolve Education (along with the classroom teacher) facilitates the co-creation of an acceptable user agreement outlining the conduct expected of students when using digital technologies that will be signed by the student, their teacher and their parent/carer.
The session focuses on students exploring their online values as a class/group. Using a co-design approach, students are guided through the session to determine what online values are important in their online world. This includes when they use their devices both at school, and at home.
Lower Primary
